Large Dome Assemble : Making Connector Day 2

The next day, we still continue making the polypipe joints due to the stock of the polypipe have run out yesterday. Around 10am the new stock of pipe have arrive, then all of us cut according to our need, some need only two and some need four of it.

new arrive : big circle tube

different people cut different parts

its really quite hard to saw it off

We need to cut the polypipe joints into this shape to use as connector between other bamboo struts :

curve at the side

So cutting works begin. Basically we need to cut our self first, only the curve side will be cut by machine.

c
tighten it

due to running out of saw, everyone was just use what they grab xD

Today was a busy day too, our schedule was full of classes. We won't able to finish so much due to limited time. Our works stop in the middle because its already 5pm :( the workshop close at that time. No choice, we have to be early on the next morning to continue our works.

Large Dome Assemble : Making Connector Day

During last weekends, i cant connect to any usm wireless. And it seems no line courage at the moment, so i cant check whether there's update on RUS101 website. What was so unlucky, i receive my friend's text on 7.38am today and i get to know that we need to move all the bamboo struts to studio which have cut by us last friday! Omgod, what RUSH MORNING!

BOO! heart attack
(credit to hbp website)

No choice, we have to move on sharp on 8am to USM Rumpun Buluh site again to take our bamboo struts. Then we move all the way to RST bus stop. We have no energy to move futher, not even to HBP. NEVER. So we roll down the struts through the little hillside to make carrying works easy.

preparing for the roll down

receive it from down

then lift it up into bus

finally reach! lift it down again....

move it to hbp using mankind strength! SUPER HEAVY!

the X-men connector brief us about the size and measurement

our connector should be looks like this when done

decided get the measurement again, so we wont cut it wrong

Unfortunately, our bamboo size was unsuitable for the connector. Some hole was too large and not fitted the polypipe . What can do, we just go back to USM Rumpun Buluh site to search for the suitable struts again. Too bad, we are running out of the suitable size of struts, we just got a few of it, some was not really can fit into the polypipe.

ability to sit anywhere : On Middle Road

ability to sit anywhere 2 : On The Bamboo

finally it divide into two -.-

problem: there was not enough screw in the saw,
just simply stuck some wood stick into the screw holes

supa dupa messy condition in Rumpun Buluh site

move it back to hbp again! arghhhhh!~

trying to make the bamboo thinner ; it's for the connector space

the remainder from the bamboo

take a break! :D

Finally, i able to finish my two bamboo struts. It's really a tiring work. Although it looks like a simple task, but it's never been easier after you try.
